Very hard to express how much I am already missing Dave. Here are just a few words. I think back to that lucky day in 1980 when Lever Brothers placed me in a desk directly in front of Dave. Dave affectionately (I think) dubbed me "Young'un", I called him "Big Fellow". Although music kick-started the friendship, I was also entranced by his wonderfully dry wit and sharp mind. He never lost that tremendous sense of humour. He expanded my musical knowledge enormously, most notably when he introduced me to the works of John Martyn. Over the years through a shared passion for synthesizers we were able to create some of our own sounds and these remain very precious to me. He was such a genuine person and to me personally he was such an encourager. I can't thank him enough for that. A few closing words from a John Martyn song: "When that hurt in your heart has gone I'll still be your friend. Right to the end of our river and further still."
